# Change the organization's AI settings

`PATCH /apis/cra.diagrid.io/v1beta1/aisettings`

Set how much of your Catalyst data AI tools can read in your organization. The level applies to the Diagrid assistant and to every MCP client your users connect; when connecting an MCP client, a user can choose a lower level, never a higher one. A change takes effect within a minute. Only an organization admin can change this, and every change is recorded in the organization's audit log.

## Request

### Request body

The settings to change. Settings this request does not name are left as they are.

`application/json`

The AI settings to change. A setting this request does not name is left as it is. A request naming a setting this API does not recognise is rejected rather than partly applied.

- `dataSharingLevel` (string) — The most of your Catalyst data any AI tool can read in your organization. See `AISettings`. One of: `metadata`, `full`.

## Responses

### 200 — The organization's AI settings, as they now stand.

`application/json`

Your organization's AI settings.

- `dataSharingLevel` (string) — Required. The most of your Catalyst data any AI tool can read in your organization. It applies to the Diagrid assistant and to every MCP client your users connect. `metadata` lets AI tools see what exists in your organization and how it is running, but not the data your applications process, their logs or your billing records. `full` adds those. Credentials are never shared at any level. An organization that has not chosen a level reads `metadata`. One of: `metadata`, `full`.

### 400 — The request named no setting, an unknown setting, or a level that does not exist.
